FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the questions I am frequently asked about my work and about homeopathy in general. I also include here some links and articles offering further information.

What is Homeopathy? The Official definition (Unanimously endorsed by the Society of Homeopaths, The Homeopathy Action Trust, The Alliance of Registered Homeopaths, The British Homeopathic Association)

"Homeopathy is a system of natural healthcare that has been in worldwide use for over 200 years. Homeopathy treats each person as a unique individual with the aim of stimulating their own healing ability. A homeopath selects the most appropriate medicine based on the individual's specific symptoms and personal level of health."

Is homeopathy safe? Do I continue with my usual medication?

Homeopathy is widely recognized as a safe, gentle and effective way to alleviate symptoms and provide support for both minor and serious health issues. It does not interfere with other forms of treatment.

How does homeopathy work?

Homeopathy works following the principle of "like cures like". Once a clear and complete sympton picture has emerged, I will  match the latter with one of the many homeopathic medicine at my disposal. Following your visit, I will work on my case notes, make my choice and send you the medicine within the next few days. Sometimes I may give it to you at the end of the consultation.

How is the remedy taken?

You will be given your homeopathic treatment in the form of a small pillule or in liquid form (i.e. drops). It is to be taken orally and works best when allowed to dissolve in your mouth.

Warning! Avoid taking the medicine 20 minutes before or after eating or brushing your teeth.

Do I need to stop the medication my GP prescribed for the homeopathic medicine to be effective?

The homeopathic treatment can be taken alongside the medication your GP has prescribed.

Warning! Weaning oneself of any medication without consulting your GP is ill-advised.

Are the remedies sound and of high quality?

Homeopathic medicines are manufactured professionally. They are dispensed by homeopathic pharmacies that follow a strict Code of Ethic and uphold the highest standards throughout the process of their manufacture.

Do I need to believe in homeopathy for the treatment to work?

Some claim that Homeopathy doesn't work beyond the placebo effect. I have however witnessed homeopathic treatment being highly succesful with animals and infants.
